The Sam and Lucy Award began in 2007 at McKinley Elementary School. Its intent is to give positive support and reward incentive to performing students, who give 100% effort and show positive Eagle Spirit! This award is in memory of Sam and Lucy Frecero, a married couple who lived and raised four children in San Leandro, a town they loved! Both were concerned that sometimes performing students are overlooked. This award is based on effort and striving to do your best! THE SAM & LUCY AWARD is sponsored by Triple Threat Academy, as part of its “Giving Back Program,” and handled by Anthony, Katie and Tony Frecero. Sam and Lucy would be proud to assist these students, as it involves children, families, and school.
