The goal of Safe Schools in San Leandro is to create schools and classrooms that are respectful, inclusive, welcoming, and safe for all students and staff, including our gay lesbian, transgender, bisexual and questioning youth and staff.

Creating a Community of Allies
Safe School lesson plans are integrated into the curriculum throughout the year. They focus on learning about the difference kinds of families in our community; on anti-bullying and the harm that hurtful words can do to others; and in general stress the importance of each member of our community being able to be whoever he/she is. These lessons bring about opportunities to show caring and empathy for others.
