On Wednesday, April 15, 2009, Mr. Truong's fourth and fifth grade class went on a field trip to the San Leandro Creek at Root Park in Downtown San Leandro.  Once at the park, Watershed Awareness Coordinator, Laurey Hemenway, gave the students a creek and mural tour to increase their watershed awareness and knowledge of local history.  The students later conducted mural observations and hands-on water quality testing.  This was definitely a valuable learning experience for all!  To learn more about the programs offered by the Friends of the San Leandro Creek, please visit: http://www.fslc.org/educationprograms.html.
