From January 20-23, 2009, fifth grade students from Ms. Jacob, Mr. Grossman, and Mr. Truong's classes went to Walker Creek Ranch Outdoor Education School in Petaluma, California for a four-day, three-night camping adventure! The campers experienced and learned first-hand about the wonders of nature, many science standards, and teamwork. The wonderful experiences and memories gathered there, like these fantastic pictures taken, will stay with our students, teachers, and parent cabin leaders for a lifetime! |
![]() Together, we learned the true meaning of community. ![]() We hiked all day! ![]() We made some newt friends along the beaten path. ![]() We had to develop trust! ![]() It was both scary and fun, but we learned to depend on one another! ![]() More hiking meant more chances to learn and bond! ![]() Sometimes we had to cross the creek barefeet! Can you say C-O-L-D! ![]() Sometimes, we stopped to paint our faces using river rocks! ![]() We learned about pond creatures at Turtle Pond. ![]() Then we joined them by dunking our faces in the extremely cold pond water! Brrrr! ![]() We made friends with some barnyard animals. ![]() But we kept hiking... ![]() We got intimate with a friendly snake! ![]() After a long day of activities, chow time was always a delight! ![]() Team challenges and ga-ga ball were fun and exciting! ![]() We rocked the house at the Barnyard Boogie! ![]() At the Closing Ceremony, we bid farewell to our new friends and Walker Creek.
