YOU ARE HERE: HOME --> CLASSROOMS --> MR. GROSSMAN --> FIFTH GRADE OUTDOOR EDUCATION
Dear Wonderful Parents,
Fifth Grade Outdoor Education Camp is a rewarding experience for
all fifth graders. The camp is a four day, three night learning
experience in the Marin Headlands. This year's camp is scheduled
for February 2005 and we hope that your child will be able to
participate.
The total cost per child is $230; this includes transportation,
lodging, food, and guided activities. At the Outdoor Education
meeting on September 16, those in attendance agreed that a payment
schedule would be helpful to parents and students. We are asking
parents to follow the payment plan below:
October 15th $50
November 15th $50
December 15th $50
January 15th Balance of $80
Please make checks payable to McKinley Outdoor Education.
To offset these expenses students will have several opportunities
to raise money for the event. Your child is highly encouraged
to get involved in these fundraising efforts. However it is likely
that some students will not be able to raise the entire $230 through
these fundraisers. Thus, it is necessary for you, the parent,
to plan ahead and begin setting money aside to be placed in your
childÕs camp account.*
Some of the fundraisers are:
Car Wash 10/16/2004 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Candy Sale 10/2004
Read-a-thon 10/2004
Cookie dough/pizza sale (upcoming)
The more your family brings in through fundraising, the less money you will owe on January 15th.
Sincerely,
Your Esteemed Outdoor Education Committee
* Parents who may have financial difficulty in meeting the payment
schedule should make their concerns known to the teacher so other
arrangements can be made.
